If your boat is already listed on Boataround, you don't need to type it all again: our Chrome extension imports your boat from Boataround into your Charter Boats fleet in one click. It brings across the name, make and model, boat type, guests, cabins, berths, toilets, length, year, description, equipment and the photos your Boataround page shows. You then add the marina, check-in days and prices yourself. You need a Charter Boats operator account with a company.
The extension is called Charter Boats – Import from Boataround. Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store.
How to import your boat
- Get your API key in Dashboard → Settings → API. It starts with cb_live_. See How do I get an API key?
- Install the extension.
- Click the extension's icon in your Chrome toolbar, paste the key and click Save key.
- Open your boat's page on boataround.com and click Import to Charter Boats, bottom right.
- A message confirms the import and links to the boat. You can also find it in Dashboard → Boats.
What comes across is only what your Boataround page shows. Nothing is guessed or filled in. Prices aren't imported. Set them in the boat editor, together with the marina and check-in days (How do I edit my boat's listing).
The boat arrives unpublished. It goes live by itself once it has a marina, guests, a photo and check-in days.
Good to know
A boat that's already in your fleet isn't copied again; the message says so and links to it. If another company on Charter Boats already has that boat, the import stops and asks you to contact us.
If your key isn't accepted, copy it again from Settings → API. If your Boataround page shows no guest count or boat type, the import stops and offers to let you add the boat by hand (How do I add my boat to charter.boats?).
The extension imports into your own company with your API key. It keeps the key in your browser and sends it only to charter.boats, and its popup lists your recent imports. Everything else happens in your Owner Dashboard.
