Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: All vessels covered with Kasko insurance with deductible franchises up to deposit amount. Insurance includes Compulsory Passenger Insurance and Compulsory Third Party Insurance.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~56 HP engine burn roughly 4.5 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 95 L ≈ €178 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring pets aboard?
Pets such as dogs, cats, or birds are only allowed with our prior written consent, so please ask us before you book if you'd like to bring one along.
Are there limits on where I can sail?
If you'd like to sail beyond Croatian territorial waters, you must let us know in writing at least 45 days before your charter so we can arrange the extra coverage, and the additional cost will be yours. Plan your route so that two days before the end you're within about 40 NM of the home base.
What happens in bad weather?
Please don't leave port when the forecast wind exceeds 25 knots or when the port authorities have issued a no-sail order. In strong winds, contact us with your exact position so we can assist you if needed.
Will my sailing experience be checked at check-in?
We may ask you to demonstrate your handling of the yacht at sea before departure. If we feel you're not ready to take charge, we'll assign a professional skipper for an extra fee, and the test time counts as part of your charter.
Is night sailing or racing allowed?
Sailing at night and taking part in races or regattas both require our prior written consent. Please also avoid fishing or diving without the proper licences.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
