Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Yachts fully insured, third-party liability coverage
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €372 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
What happens if my sailing skills are in doubt at embarkation?
We carry out the check-in together with an experienced person and your skipper. If any doubt about your sailing skills arises during embarkation, we reserve the right to require you to hire a skipper. Local port authorities may also ask the skipper and co-skipper for a sailing experience declaration.
On a skippered charter, where does the skipper sleep and how is the fee handled?
The skipper is obliged to sleep on board for the whole charter and so needs his own cabin. The skipper fee is always agreed in advance and in writing, and is paid in full upon embarkation.
What's included in the charter rate?
Your rate covers use of the yacht and equipment, insurance, a welcome kit, clean linens and towels, the outboard motor with its first fill, a full spare cooking-gas bottle, berthing for the first and last night, disinfection before boarding, and final cleaning.
When do I need to be back at the disembarkation port?
You must return to the redelivery base the evening before disembarkation, by 18:00 at the latest. The time needed for the check-in/out procedure counts as part of the charter period.
What condition should the yacht be in when I return it?
Please redeliver the yacht in the same condition you received it, full in fuel and water. You're responsible for returning it at the pre-agreed place and time.
