The Scalinata San Simplicio leads you up to Olbia's 12th-century Basilica di San Simplicio, the most significant Romanesque church in all of Gallura and dedicated to the city's patron martyr. The striking granite structure was built in three phases between 1050 and 1150, and it's remarkably well-preserved for its age. It's the kind of place that quietly reminds you just how deep the history runs in this corner of Sardinia.
