Piazza del Plebiscito is the largest square in Naples and one of the biggest in all of Italy, spanning around 25,000 square metres. Flanked by the Royal Palace on one side and the sweeping colonnade of the Church of San Francesco di Paola on the other, it's a genuinely monumental space that feels unlike anywhere else in the city. Named after the 1860 plebiscite that unified Naples with the Kingdom of Italy, the square carries serious historical weight — and these days it also hosts major public events and concerts.
