Graça Market

Mercado da Graça is Ponta Delgada's main public market, where you'll find fresh local produce, fish, and Azorean specialties straight from island farmers and vendors. It has the lively, no-frills energy of a real working market rather than a tourist showcase — worth knowing that the original market hall has been undergoing reconstruction, so the action currently takes place in the underground car park nearby. It opens early (from 7 am) most days, but closes up by early afternoon, so get there in the morning to catch the best of it.
