Bodrum Castle, also known as the Castle of St. Peter, was built by the Knights of St. John starting in 1402 and has dominated the harbor ever since. Since 1960 it's housed the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, making it one of the few places in the world where you can explore ancient shipwrecks and recovered artifacts without ever getting wet. Look out for the Ottoman Sultan Mahmut II's royal seal, the double walls, moat, and drawbridge — all still impressively intact.
