Bell Tower of Saint Domnius

Climb the bell tower of St. Domnius Cathedral for one of the best views over Split's Old Town and the Adriatic beyond. What makes this spot remarkable is that the cathedral itself was originally built as the mausoleum of Roman Emperor Diocletian — so you're essentially ascending a tower attached to a nearly 1,700-year-old tomb turned church. The history layered into every stone here is genuinely hard to wrap your head around. It's a compact climb, but the payoff at the top is worth every step.
