Cathedral of St. James
attraction· 7 min from marina (538m)
The Cathedral of St. James is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most remarkable Renaissance buildings in all of Europe — what makes it truly special is that it's built entirely from stone, with no brick or wood used anywhere in its construction. Dating back to the 15th century, the 38-meter-long basilica took over a century to complete and showcases the work of legendary architects including Juraj Dalmatinac. Don't miss the famous frieze of 71 sculpted stone faces ringing the exterior — said to be portraits of real townspeople from the era.
