St. Donatus Church is one of Croatia's most striking pre-Romanesque buildings — a massive circular 9th-century church built right on top of the ancient Roman forum. The acoustics inside are legendary, which is why it now hosts classical music concerts rather than services. You can still spot Roman columns and inscriptions embedded into the walls, making it feel like two civilizations stacked on top of each other.
