Tucked inside Le Landeron's remarkably preserved medieval old town, the Salle de la Question (literally 'Room of Questioning') is a rare surviving space once used for interrogations and judicial proceedings during the Middle Ages. It's one of those eerie, atmospheric stops that gives you a real sense of how justice — or the lack of it — actually worked in a Swiss medieval town. Well worth a look if you're already wandering the historic bourg.
