About this boat

BENETEAU OCEANIS 51.1 With taut lines, a new stepped hull and a stylish deck plan, the Oceanis 51.1 is the first of a new generation. Easy to handle, comfortable and smart, the number of customizations available has been increased to provide more than 700 combinations. EXTERIOR DESIGN One third of the Oceanis 51.1’s hull is now stepped. In addition to the aesthetics of this flared shape, the new hull creates additional interior space allowing for exciting new layouts on a boat this size. With emphasis on taut cruiser lines, she is a joy to move around and reassuringly safe. The spacious cockpit, many relaxation and sun bathing areas, as well as an aft swim platform, promise true comfort. FIRST LINE Fitted with an extra-long carbon or aluminium mast, the Oceanis 51.1 First Line has up to 35% additional sail area in high-tech materials. The boat has a 2.8 m lead bulb keel in this high performance configuration. This reduces weight and hydrodynamic drag. To complete this version, a composite steering wheel, top-of-the-range deck fittings and boomsprit marry speed and cruising and promise exciting new sensations. INTERIOR DESIGN The large hull portholes bathe the boat in light and elegantly emphasize the interior design by Nauta Design creating a wonderful atmosphere. A choice of brushed oak or mahogany woodwork ambiances increases the opportunities for customization. SMART The furling mast, self-tailing jib and all the halyards and sheets on the standard model are all brought back to a single winch at each of the helm stations, making her simple and easy to sail. As for harbour manoeuvring, Dock & Go technology simplifies everything. THE HEIGHT OF COMFORT The architectural choices that stand out on the Oceanis 51.1 are reflected in her habitability and an incredible amount of space. Inside, the owner cabin has an en-suite shower room and toilet, and a 1.6 m wide island bed. A fully-fitted U-shaped galley has many convenient appliances. Truly a space to enjoy together, it is as pleasant to use under sail as it is at anchor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Charterer bears liability for losses not recoverable under Shipowner's insurance.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Where can I sail and are there any range limits?
You can cruise within Greek waters unless we agree otherwise in writing. Please plan so your turnaround point is reached in the first third of the charter, stay within 40 nautical miles of the disembarkation port in the final two days, and be back at the base by 5:00 pm on the day before return.
Are there weather or time-of-day restrictions on sailing?
Please don't set out if the wind exceeds Force 6 (above 24 knots) or sailing is prohibited. We also ask that you avoid sailing after sunset or in uncharted waters, reef in good time, and never over-canvas the boat.
What uses of the yacht aren't allowed?
The yacht is for private leisure only. Please don't race, tow another vessel (except in an emergency), sublet, or carry more people than the licence permits, and don't attempt repairs without our approval.
Might my sailing experience be checked before departure?
Yes, we may ask for a short practical demonstration of your seamanship before you set off, and that time counts as part of the charter. If it isn't satisfactory, we may place a skipper on board at your cost.
What happens if the yacht breaks down during the charter?
Notify us immediately and report any accident to the nearest Port Authority. If a machinery breakdown not caused by you prevents use for more than 24 hours in the Saronic Gulf (48 in the Cyclades or Eastern Peloponnese), you can claim a pro-rata refund or an equivalent extension.
