Charter calendar sync on charter.boats keeps one boat's availability the same everywhere you sell it, so a week booked on another platform closes here, and a week booked here closes there. There are two ways in: native connections to MMK Booking Manager and Nausys, and iCal for everything else.

Native connections: MMK and Nausys

If your boats are on MMK Booking Manager or Nausys, you do not set anything up per calendar. Availability is pulled from MMK and Nausys automatically, and bookings and blocks you make on charter.boats are placed there as options or holds, so a guest can't book the same week twice.

Connecting everything else via iCal

Every other platform connects through iCal, the calendar format almost every booking site and calendar app can export as an .ics link. You paste that link into charter.boats and we read the bookings from it. Here is where the major platforms hide theirs.

  • Click&Boat: My Boats, then Calendar, then Sync
  • GetMyBoat: Dashboard, then Calendar, then Export iCal
  • Boatsetter: Calendar, then Export, then iCal
  • SamBoat: Settings, under Calendar Sync
  • Google Calendar: open the calendar's settings and copy its Secret address in iCal format
  • Apple Calendar: File, then Export, then share the calendar link

If you keep bookings in a spreadsheet, put them into a Google Calendar first and connect that.

Importing a calendar

  1. Open Dashboard, then Settings, then Integrations, and find Calendar Sync
  2. Choose the boat the calendar belongs to
  3. Click + Add, paste the iCal URL
  4. Click Add Calendar

Repeat for each platform and each boat; every boat keeps its own list of calendars, because each listing elsewhere has its own link.

Sending your bookings out

To send your charter.boats bookings the other way, use your export link. Each boat has its own, in the form https://charter.boats/api/calendar/<boat-id>/export.ics, and a company also has one link that covers all its boats. Copy it from the same Calendar Sync screen and paste it into the other platform's iCal import. Use the right link for each boat if you list several.

How often calendars update

We re-read each imported calendar roughly every 15 to 20 minutes, and the Sync now button next to a calendar forces an immediate read, which is worth doing right after you add one. The other direction is not in our hands: other platforms read our export link on their own schedule, and some are slow, Google Calendar can take several hours. So when a last-minute booking comes in, block the dates directly on each platform until they have all caught up.

Troubleshooting

  • A calendar is not syncing: check the iCal URL is public, some platforms only produce a working link once you enable sharing or generate a new one, and Sync now will show an error if we cannot read it
  • Seeing the same booking twice: you have probably imported a calendar that already contains your charter.boats export, which makes a loop; remove one of the two
  • Bookings deleted on the other platform disappear here when their feed next updates
  • Bookings that have ended drop off your export link automatically

Set this up once per boat and it runs on its own: MMK and Nausys stay in step automatically, every other platform is one pasted link each way, and a Sync now is there when you need certainty. For the rest of the dashboard, from booking modes to payouts, see the owner dashboard guide.
