About this boat

The new Fountaine Pajot Isla 40 is the exclusive entry-level model that iconvinces all along the line sailing on the Balearic Islands and at anchor in the most beautiful bays as well as at mooring. Our charter boat Isla 40 for charter from/to Palma de Mallorca comes in the Quatuor 2 version with comfortable 4 double cabins and 2 bathrooms with separate shower and extended forepeak cabin. This sailing catamaran thus offers space for up to 8+1 charter guests. The Isla 40 features impressive sailing performance, a remarkable innovative design, and light-filled interiors. You also rent an Oceanis version with many pleasant and useful extras for your unforgettable sailing holiday. The helm station has a second radio with AIS in addition to all instrument displays. Bimini and cake shack protect the driver from sun and wind. The driver's station is halfway between the flybridge and the cockpit. This allows for a good overview of the boat and good communication with the rest of your fellow sailors. The cockpit, equipped with teak and gas barbecue, invites you to linger. Here, close to the kitchen, is the ideal place to feast or simply enjoy the views of Mallorca's, Ibiza's, Formentera's or Menorca's beautiful bays. The sun lounger in the foredeck is ideal for sun worshippers and those who like the wind blowing around their noses. Extra equipment: Oceanic version, teak in cockpit, second VHF with AIS at the helm, electric toilets, 12 V fans, solar panels, gas grill, second refrigerator, gas oven, bimini for helm, dinghy on davids with electric winch and with 6hp outboard engine etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Boat insured against all risks with excess covered by deposit. Third party liability covers accidental personal injury and property damage up to EUR 5,000,000.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~60 HP engines burn roughly 4.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 101 L ≈ €173 at €1.71/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Spain?
A recognised sailing licence is required, with an ICC typically requested for non-Spanish skippers chartering a bareboat.
What is included in the charter price?
The price covers use of the yacht and its accessories per the checklist, normal wear and tear, insurance, the dinghy, and the home berth and its associated fees. An outboard is included for catamarans and for sailing yachts of 45 foot and above.
What extras can I add to my charter?
Optional extras you can order include bed linen and towels, an outboard engine for smaller sailing yachts and motorboats, and items such as a Cabrera park permit. These are arranged and paid for separately.
What happens if my booked yacht is not available?
We will provide a yacht of the same or similar type. If only a lower category is available we refund the proportional price difference, or you may choose a full refund of what you have paid for the charter.
What condition is the yacht handed over in, and what do I check?
We hand the yacht over ready to sail, clean, with full water, fuel and gas tanks and all documents. At takeover you carefully check the condition, technical functions and inventory against a checklist and confirm it with your signature.
When is the best time to sail in Spain?
April–October across the Balearics and Costa Brava; reliable warm summers, busiest in July–August with the occasional afternoon thermal breeze.
