Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Guest responsible for all damages caused by negligence or irresponsibility
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 900 HP engine burn roughly 135 L/h — about €252 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You must sail within Croatian territorial waters. Any exceptions need special approval or a permit arranged in advance.
Can I bring a pet on board?
Pets such as a dog or cat are allowed on request, so please ask us before your trip.
Are there limits on how I use the boat?
You cannot sublet or hand the boat to anyone else, take more people aboard than are on the crew list, sail at night in unsafe weather, or tow other vessels except in a genuine emergency.
Can I take part in a regatta?
You may only join a regatta by special arrangement with us beforehand.
Do you check whether I can handle the boat?
Yes. You or your skipper must hold a valid sailing permit and VHF radio licence. If we judge that you're not able to operate the boat safely, we'll provide a skipper whom you pay according to our price list.
