Kingstown Barracks Anchorage

Drop the hook off Rottnest Island and you're right next to Kingstown Barracks, a coastal defence facility built in the 1930s that served through WW2 and beyond until 1985. The history here is tangible — the old military infrastructure is still standing, and the barracks complex now runs budget accommodation about 1km east of the main settlement. It's a cracking spot to explore by bike or on foot, with that raw, slightly forgotten military character adding something genuinely different to the usual island anchorage.
