Auchmithie Anchorage

Drop anchor off Auchmithie, a tiny clifftop fishing village perched on dramatic 120ft red sandstone cliffs in Angus, around three miles northeast of Arbroath. The setting is raw and unspoiled, with the village sitting well above the shoreline and giving the whole place a quietly remote feel despite being close to town. From the water you get a great perspective on those striking red cliffs, and if you head ashore Auchmithie has a legitimate claim to being the birthplace of the Arbroath smokie.
