Bassin Duguay-Trouin is a working commercial harbour basin right in the heart of Saint-Malo, named after the city's legendary privateer René Duguay-Trouin. The atmosphere here is gloriously unglamorous — fishing boats unloading spider crabs (Saint-Malo is France's top port for them, pulling in around 4,000 tonnes a year) alongside coastal freighters.
