Cala della Fornace

Drop anchor at this stunning little cove just outside Portovenere, where the water runs an almost unreal shade of turquoise over a sandy bottom at around 12 metres. The holding is solid, though you'll see the La Spezia port traffic passing through, so expect some movement. The dramatic rocky coastline and the medieval village of Portovenere are right on your doorstep, making this one of the more scenic spots to sit out in the Gulf of Poets.
