Cala di Volpe

Cala di Volpe — 'Bay of the Fox' — is one of the most storied spots along Costa Smeralda, a shallow, sheltered inlet framed by low macchia-covered headlands and water that shifts from turquoise to deep jade depending on the light. The place has a quietly glamorous edge, largely thanks to the iconic hotel of the same name nearby, designed by Jacques Couelle to look like a Sardinian fishing village tumbling down to the shore. The sandy bottom makes anchoring easy, and the surrounding hills keep the bay calm even when the wind picks up elsewhere.
