Cowan Creek
Cowan Creek is a wild and peaceful anchorage tucked into the southern reaches of the Hawkesbury River system, surrounded by the bushland of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. You drop the hook here and you're pretty much cut off from civilization — no roads in, just sandstone ridges, dense bushland, and the odd kookaburra. It's a favourite spot for exploring by dinghy, with tributaries like Jerusalem Bay branching off and plenty of birdlife to keep you occupied.
