Emerald Bay

Drop anchor at Emerald Bay, the only inlet on Lake Tahoe and one of its most jaw-dropping spots. The vivid turquoise water surrounded by granite peaks and pine forests is unlike anywhere else on the lake. You'll want to swim or kayak ashore to explore Fannette Island, Lake Tahoe's only island, or hike the Rubicon Trail up to the bay's famous vistas — just know there's no driving down to the water from Highway 89.
