Grammata

Γράμματα — which translates simply as 'Letters' — is a sheltered anchorage on the northern tip of Syros, well known for the ancient inscriptions carved into the rock face by sailors who sought refuge here over the centuries. You're essentially anchoring in the same spot where Greek, Roman, and Byzantine seafarers waited out the winds, making it one of the more quietly remarkable spots in the Cyclades. Drop the hook, swim ashore, and you can still make out some of those carvings yourself.
