Loch Aline Anchorage

Loch Aline is one of those spots that feels almost unfairly sheltered — a narrow 5-metre entrance off the Sound of Mull acts as a natural gatekeeper, opening up into a huge, well-protected anchorage beyond. It's the kind of place you drop the hook and wonder why you'd ever leave, especially when a northwesterly is making the rest of the Sound uncomfortable. The mainland village of Lochaline is close by, giving you easy access to a shop, pub, and the historic ruins of Ardtornish Castle nearby.
