Montague Harbour Marine Provincial Park

Tucked into the southwest shore of Galiano Island, Montague Harbour holds the distinction of being BC's first ever marine provincial park — and it's easy to see why this sheltered anchorage earned the honour. Drop the hook among the mooring buoys and you're steps from shell middens, old-growth arbutus trees, and that particular quiet the Southern Gulf Islands do so well. The 89-hectare park has walking trails winding through it, and Sturdies Bay is about 10 km east if you need to head ashore for supplies.
