Plage des Sables Rouges

This beach on the eastern tip of Île de Groix earns its name from the striking garnet-red sand and rock, a geological quirk that makes it one of the most visually distinctive anchorages in Brittany. Drop the hook off the shore near Locmaria and you'll find yourself looking at a shoreline that genuinely looks unlike anywhere else. The contrast of deep red rock against the sea is worth the stop on its own.
