Drop anchor just off Portovenere's historic waterfront, with the colorful fishermen's houses and the striped medieval church of San Pietro stacked dramatically on the headland right in front of you. You're about 200 meters from the little harbor, with the island of Palmaria sitting close across the water — the kind of setting that makes you forget you had a destination. Pontile Ignazio is a private marina nearby if you need to sort fuel or water, but this spot itself is an anchorage.
