Praia das Dornas

Praia das Dornas is a small, quietly charming beach near the pier in Pontevedra, Galicia, where you anchor off and take in the surroundings. Its name comes from the traditional flat-bottomed boats — dornas — that were once hauled up onto the shore here, giving the spot a real sense of local seafaring history. The nearby headland Punta Ferreiro and the little islet O Con Pequeno de Ferreiro make for a distinctive backdrop as you swing at anchor.
