Rolfe Cove

You anchor off Matia Island, a remote National Wildlife Refuge in the San Juan Islands where most of the land is off-limits to protect nesting seabirds and sensitive habitat. The 2-acre public zone around Rolfe Cove gives you access to a small sandy beach and a loop trail through old-growth forest — one of the few places in the refuge where you're actually allowed to set foot. It's a quiet, wild stop with serious natural character.
