Smith Cove is a great spot to drop the hook, with excellent holding in a muddy bottom and solid protection that makes for a relaxed night at anchor. It's quiet and remote, but you're only about a mile and a quarter by dinghy from Castine, so town is still within reach. Cellular signal is decent here too, which is a rare bonus this far off the beaten path.
