Sonuion Anchorage

You'll anchor beneath the iconic Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, one of Greece's most photographed ancient monuments perched dramatically on white marble cliffs 200 feet above the Aegean. This is where Lord Byron carved his name in 1810, and you can still see spectacular sunsets through the temple's columns just like ancient Athenians did over 2,400 years ago. The anchorage sits at the southeastern tip of the Attica peninsula in waters that have witnessed millennia of maritime history, from ancient silver trade routes to modern yacht traffic heading to the Cyclades.
