Woody Bay

Woody Bay is a handy anchorage on Waiheke's eastern side, sitting in deep water with good holding and easy access to the island's main road if you want to head ashore and explore. It's open to the west, so it can get a bit rolly if the wind swings that way, but it generally makes for a solid overnight stop. Quiet and unfussy, it's a practical base rather than a showpiece bay — useful when the more popular spots on the island are packed out.
