Water Cistern
attraction· 4 min from marina (265m)
Tucked inside the historic Nelson's Dockyard, this restored colonial-era cistern was once the lifeblood of the entire harbour, storing freshwater for the British Navy's fleet. It's a surprisingly striking structure — massive in scale and remarkably well-preserved, giving you a real sense of just how self-sufficient this 18th-century naval base had to be. Well worth a look as you wander the dockyard grounds.
