The Faro di Portoferraio is the lighthouse that dominates the entire harbor entrance of Portoferraio on the island of Elba, sweeping its beam across the water with an imposing, almost defiant presence. It's one of those spots where the scale of it genuinely catches you off guard — standing beneath it, you get a real sense of why it's been a landmark for this port town for so long. Worth the short detour for the views back over the port and the surrounding coastline.
