Portuguese Historical Center

Tucked in the waterfront community of Point Loma at 2831 Avenida de Portugal, this museum celebrates San Diego's deep Portuguese fishing heritage, particularly the tuna industry that shaped the region throughout the 20th century. You'll find artifacts, photos, and stories tracing the immigrant families who built lives here — a surprisingly personal and overlooked slice of San Diego history. The center also hosts the annual Tunaman's Memorial Mass at nearby St. Agnes Catholic Church, keeping these cultural traditions very much alive.
