Safeway has two locations in Alameda — one at South Shore Center and one on 5th Street — so you're rarely far from a full-service grocery run. Both stores carry the usual supermarket spread: fresh produce, deli, bakery, pharmacy, and more, with the South Shore location open until 3 AM if you need a late-night fix. Pickup and delivery are available if you'd rather skip the aisles altogether.
