Split's Peškarija is the real deal when it comes to fresh Adriatic seafood — fishermen unload their catch and it goes straight onto the stalls, so what you're seeing in the morning is what came out of the sea that night. The market runs daily from around 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the square off Marmontova Street, and the earlier you show up, the better the selection. Come late morning and prices start dropping as vendors clear out — a solid window if you want quality without the rush.
