Baluarte de San Ignacio

Baluarte de San Ignacio is a 16th-century colonial bastion built by engineer Cristóbal de Roda, originally known as the Bastión de los Moros, sitting alongside the historic House of the Jesuits in Cartagena's old city walls. You can walk the short trail up to the top where old cannons line the ramparts and surprisingly cool breezes cut through the Caribbean heat. It's a quick but rewarding stop — small hidden nooks throughout the fort make it feel like you're actually exploring, not just sightseeing.
