Palace of Fine Arts

One of San Francisco's most photogenic landmarks, the Palace of Fine Arts is a hauntingly beautiful remnant of the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, featuring a massive Roman-style rotunda and colonnades reflected in a tranquil lagoon. Originally built as a temporary exhibition hall, it was so beloved that the city preserved and later fully restored it. You can wander freely around the grounds, and the backdrop makes it one of the best spots in the city for photos — especially at golden hour.
