George Washington House
Attraction· 7 min from marina (577m)
This remarkably well-preserved 18th-century mansion holds a fun piece of trivia: Barbados is the only foreign country George Washington ever visited, making this place genuinely one-of-a-kind. In 1751, a 19-year-old Washington spent two months here with his ailing half-brother Lawrence, who was seeking a warmer climate to treat his tuberculosis. The house is open daily from 9am–4pm, and if you're into American history or just love an unexpected story hiding in plain sight, it's well worth a visit.
