This museum in Solomos Square is where you'll find one of the finest collections of Post-Byzantine icons in the Ionian Islands — many of them literally salvaged from the rubble after the devastating 1953 earthquake. That backstory adds serious weight to what you're looking at: centuries of religious artwork that nearly didn't survive. It's a surprisingly moving stop that gives you a real sense of Zakynthos beyond the beaches.
