Rimska utvrda Lopar is the site of an ancient pentagonal Roman fortress (Lopsica) dating back to the 3rd or 4th century AD, making it one of the more distinctive archaeological spots in the region. The ruins held up remarkably well until World War II, and what remains still gives you a real sense of the fort's scale and its strategic position overlooking the sea.
