Chiesa Madonna dello Schiavo
Church· 4 min from marina (292m)
This small neoclassical church in Carloforte was consecrated in 1815 and carries a deeply personal history — inside, a plaque commemorates the 117 Tabarkini people who died in slavery in Tunis. What makes it especially striking is that the Madonna statue itself is believed to be a ship's figurehead, giving it a quietly haunting maritime identity unlike any typical church. The facade is simple, vertical, and whitewashed, but the story behind it is anything but ordinary.
