Sifnos is remarkable for having 77 recorded ancient towers — more than one per square kilometer — and the Kambanario Tower is the crown jewel of them all. Its arched doorway, almost perfectly preserved, gives it the look of a bell tower and makes it unlike anything else on the island. If you're into archaeology or just love stumbling across real history, tracking down these towers on foot is one of the more rewarding things you can do here.
