Cathédrale Santa-Maria-Assunta

This Roman Catholic cathedral, completed in 1593, is one of Ajaccio's most storied landmarks — and notably, it's where Napoleon Bonaparte was baptized in 1771. Built in a Baroque/Mannerist style and dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, it's been a listed historic monument since 1906 and holds an impressive collection of sacred art.
