Fesch Museum

Housed in the grand Palais Fesch in central Ajaccio, this is Corsica's premier fine arts museum, holding one of the most important Italian painting collections in France outside of Paris — largely thanks to Cardinal Fesch, Napoleon's art-obsessed uncle. The elegant 19th-century building alone is worth the detour, and inside you'll find works spanning the Renaissance through the 18th century. Give yourself a couple of hours to do it justice.
