Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The owner insures the yacht and her equipment against fire, marine and collision risks, third party damage, and loss or damage above an amount left blank in the text.

You must stay within the Greek seas. You also need to plan your route so you reach the farthest point from the return base within the first third of your charter, and be within 40 nautical miles of the base two days before it ends.

Your group must include at least one qualified skipper and one experienced crew member, and you confirm your competence in writing when booking. We may ask you to show your handling skills at sea with us aboard. If we're not satisfied, we may require a seaman at your expense or end the charter.

Please don't leave a port or anchorage if the wind is or is forecast to be above Beaufort 6, or if harbour authorities ban sailing. Plan your route around the weather and your crew's experience, and only sail at night with all navigation lights working and a proper watch on deck.

The boat is for private pleasure use by you and your party only. Racing, towing other craft (except in an emergency), subletting and carrying anyone not on the passenger list are not allowed. Fishing and archaeological-finds rules must be followed, and breaking customs or fishing laws can end your charter.

Contact us before arranging any repair, because we need to approve it first. Repairs for damage are at your cost, but we reimburse repairs for normal wear and tear against receipts. If there's an accident, ask the nearest port authority for a written record and tell us at the same time.
