Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Guest is responsible only for damage up to security deposit amount.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
How many people on board need sailing experience?
Greek Port Authorities require at least two people aboard to be qualified to sail at open sea. If only one of you is certified, a second passenger can sign a simple written statement declaring open-sea experience, and no proof is required for that statement.
Is end cleaning included, and how do I pay for it?
End cleaning is obligatory and paid in cash when you board. It covers the yacht's cleaning, cooking gas, spare gasoline for the outboard, and bed linen, blankets, pillows, pillow cases and towels (one set per person).
What does the charter fee include?
Your fee covers use of the yacht and its full inventory, all taxes and VAT, insurance for the yacht, third-party liability, passengers and sea pollution, and the port fees for your embarkation and disembarkation days.
