Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: All boats are insured against third-party liability, damage to hull, machinery and equipment, and sea pollution liability. A deductible applies, depending on the yacht's value.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not personally — this boat requires a skipper, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Where can I sail?
We offer charters from Lefkas, Corfu, Athens, the Cyclades, Skiathos, Volos, Kos and Rhodes. Choose the base that suits the cruising grounds you'd like to explore.
What's included in the charter price?
Your weekly rate covers the welcome kit, final cleaning, one set of bed sheets and towels per person, the first outboard fill, a spare gas bottle, and your first and last night at the marina. It also covers use of the yacht's equipment, including GPS, autopilot, dinghy and warm water.
Can I add a skipper or a cook?
Yes. You can add a skipper for EUR 190 per day or a hostess/cook for EUR 170 per day. Provisioning for the crew is extra, and both are paid in cash at the base.
Are there any extras I must pay at the base?
Yes, a mandatory Standard Charter Pack is paid in cash at the base before you embark. It ranges from EUR 60 for a 2-cabin yacht to EUR 300 for the largest catamarans, depending on the boat's size. Optional extras like a kayak, SUP, gennaker or safety net are paid the same way.
Can I get a discount for a longer charter?
Yes. Longer charters earn discounts of 5% for 2 weeks, 10% for 3 weeks and 15% for 4 weeks. Discounts can't be combined beyond a maximum of 15%.
When is the best time to sail in Greece?
April–October, hot and dry with the strong northerly Meltemi wind peaking in July–August, especially across the Cyclades.
