Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Charterer responsible for lost or damaged parts of yacht or equipment, and for own or someone else's faults causing damages and costs of removal.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~30 HP engine burn roughly 2.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 50 L ≈ €94 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Will you check the skipper's experience before we sail?
Yes. The skipper must hold a valid certificate to lead the yacht at sea plus a VHF radio certificate, shown to our staff before embarkation. If our base manager judges that the skipper lacks the needed skill, a professional skipper will be assigned at your cost.
Are there limits on where and how I can sail?
You must stay within Croatian territorial waters unless we give special written approval, and you may not sail at night or in unsafe weather. Subletting, commercial use, and racing in regattas without our written approval are not allowed.
What happens if something breaks or goes wrong on board?
Please tell us straight away using one of the phone numbers on the inventory list. If you don't report it immediately you may be liable for the full cost. Once notified, we'll fix it, and if we resolve it within 48 hours there's no claim for reimbursement.
Who pays for berths during the charter?
Your first and last day berth in Trogir is included. All other berthing in Trogir or other marinas during the charter is paid by you.
How many people can be on board?
You may not take more people on board than are listed on the crew list.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
